Google introduce 'Voice Actions' meant for Android devices

Google has upgraded the widget managed by its open source platform, Android with a latest aspect known as Voice Actions allow users to control their deices through voice commands.

Its features allow its users to bring out the common Android actions by just using the commands. Customers will be able to browse the web, listen to music, send texts and emails, and call businesses and contacts. In order to set the feature its users have to activate 'Speak Now' on screen of the phone physical search button or tap the microphone button on the search box of Google.

Describing the new feature its product director and engineering manager said in a blog, "Our cell phones have become modern-day Swiss Army stiletto. An Android phone is a handheld computer, a music player, a notepad, a GPS navigation unit and more, all rolled into one sleek gadget that fits easily in one’s pocket."

"Even though our phones do all these new things, the most natural way of interacting with a phone remains what it always has been: speaking. And to that end, we're delighted to establish Voice Actions for Android." it continued.

Voice Actions also permits users to navigate a location, record a note to self, set alarms and perform other functions. The features are compatible with the latest Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform.

Google's open source platform has got popularity among customers and various manufactures that are offerings range of device across different price ranges based on the platform. With the upgrading of the platform we will offer enhanced customer experience to the users. The Android 2.2 will come inbuilt in the new Motorola Droid 2.
