UK smartfans will be able to get their hands on the latest Nseries mobile in three weeks time, according to sources. The handset was originally penciled in for release four months ago, but has been subject to a series of unexplained delays.
However, a Finnish phone maker reports that Nokia Online is by now marketing the handset and that it will now launch on September 23rd. The site also posits that the handset will be limited to Nokia Online for a week, after which point it will go on sale SIM-free across the UK.
The N8 is advertized by many as a maker for Nokia, as it seems to regain its place at the smartphone sector’s top table having just lost ground to voguish Android mobiles and the iPhone. Confirmed terms include a 12 megapixel camera with HD video recording, plus a media optimized 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. Nokia’s flagship phone for 2010 will also mark the debut of its latest operating system iteration Symbian 3.
